Spring: the time to focus on rejuvenating our body and enhancing the beauty of our skin

We had our New Year’s Resolutions and were ready to work on losing weight, changing our diet, exercising more, going to sleep earlier...

How many of us have really been successful implementing these changes in the past three months?

Over the years, Dr. Dominique Fradin-Read realized that her patients did not really start working on these resolutions before spring had started. The days were still short, the darkness came early, it was cold outside, nature was still in a kind of “hibernation state…” all good reasons to say “I will start tomorrow.”

However, spring is here now, and it is time to take these resolutions seriously and work on improving your health and feeling better.  It is time to start now as summer will come soon and we want to be in good shape for our vacation trips, wherever we go. It takes a few weeks to be able to lose these extra pounds that will allow us to wear our bathing suit comfortably, or to build more muscle mass to exhibit a great body playing volleyball on the beaches!

As we all know, losing weight is not just about diet and exercise. Hormone imbalance, imperfect metabolism pathways, emotions and environmental factors often play an important role and must be considered in order to have a successful weight loss plan.

Carley and Dr. Read worked in close collaboration looking for new approaches to help our patients with weight issues; they have been able to develop a weight loss program, now offered at VitaLifeMD, that has proven extremely successful.

In a first consult with Carley, you will be assessed in a comprehensive manner and determine your health and weight goal. This can be done directly in our office or by Telehealth for patients who cannot visit our office.

  • You will first complete a nutritional and food preference evaluation to determine what will be the best food plan for you. No food recommendations will work if you do not have pleasure eating the food.

  • We will draw labs to quantify your metabolic function in order to optimize caloric expenditures, look at hormones that could impact your ability to lose weight.

  • We identify any blockages or obstacles that could have previously been in your way to get to your weight goals.

A plan of action will be offered and discussed which, beside new science-based but personalized diet recommendations and exercise, will include some medical support with prescriptions of specific supplements to boost your metabolism, hormones and peptides as appropriate to each patient, and medication, which might be added as needed (often for a short period of time initially) to help start the process.

And if you add a few sessions of Vacuodermie treatments in our office with our nurses, this will help mobilize the fat faster and help drain the tissues, which has proven to help with the general weight loss program.  Ask one of your providers for more information about this French technique if you are interested!

Spring is the time when we start thinking of getting out more, especially this year after a long period of restrictions due to the Covid pandemic. It is time to work on our skin and to protect it against the radiation damage of the sun.

Dr. Dominique Fradin-Read recently introduced the term “integrative beauty.” What she means by it is that we cannot look beautiful and have a radiant skin and fuller hair if we do not address the various factors of the aging process. This starts with an evaluation the general vitality and good heath of the body.  Our skin will look better if you have a good diet, balanced hormones, great hydration, not too much stress, and good quality sleep. There are ways to optimize these basic pillars of good health with prescriptions of nutrients, good antioxidants, and hormones.

And now, the world of peptides is offering tremendous help to slow down the process of aging and improve overall health. Some peptides are specifically directed at regenerating skin cells and hair follicles.

The term “integrative beauty” also means that we can use any help possible to get the most radiant skin. At VitaLifeMD we offer various non-invasive skin rejuvenating treatments, including light therapy and enhanced Botox injections with peptide mask application. We also offer French Nappage (at the origin and yet much better than microneedling), now with exosomes, that adds to the benefits of this treatment on the texture of the skin and is probably the best anti-aging regimen on the skin cells to date!

And do not forget to continue the maintenance at home with our duo VitaJeunesse Cream (three peptides for collagen and fibroblast support) and the Revival Serum (fantastic bioengineering placenta extracts with high concentration of hyaluronic acid and growth factors).
